Chaos Contemporary Craft is a new gallery representing contemporary artists working in alternative media.

Opening its doors in April of 2025, Chaos Contemporary Craft is located in the up and coming Gay & High neighborhood of Downtown Columbus, Ohio. The gallery presents rotating solo and group exhibitions, featuring ceramics, glass, wood, fiber, art jewelry, metals, interactive digital installations, and much more.

Throughout art history, “craft” media (ceramics, textiles, glass, wood, and metalwork) were largely excluded from the contemporary art canon. Relegated to the realm of utility and domesticity, they were dismissed as "lesser" art forms in comparison to painting or traditional sculpture.

Blurring the lines between function and expression, artists working in craft media today have reasserted their place within the contemporary art discourse. They use materiality as a language to explore heritage, politics, technology, and identity.

Chaos Contemporary Craft champions artists who are pushing boundaries and charting new territory in craft media, marrying tradition with technology in ways that redefine what “craft” can be.
